Kenley is passionate about helping clients understand how their nervous system can play a role in forming their reactions and assisting clients in understanding the mind/body connection. Kenley uses evidence-based approaches such as acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive behavior therapy to help support and empower clients so they can live a meaningful and fulfilling life, regardless of inevitable difficulties.

Kenley also has training in Strategic planning approach to suicide prevention and counseling on access to lethal means by the Suicide Prevention Resource Center. She also has additional telehealth training.

A few areas of interest are:

  • Obessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Eating disorders
  • Depression
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Trauma
  • Substance use
  • Covid-19 related stressors

Kenley wants her clients to know problems she can help them solve are identifying what’s important (values) and learning to live a fulfilling life guided by those values, regardless of the inevitable unpleasant experiences life throws out at us.  Another problem is challenging negative core beliefs which may contribute to anxiety, depression, or a negative sense of self, and replacing those beliefs with adaptive, reality-based alternatives.   The third problem she helps clients solve is navigating challenges that come with all types of relationships, work, and life transitions.

Kenley says, “I help people who are encountering obstacles preventing them from living a fulfilling life to navigating those obstacles and making decisions which are in line with their emotional, social, spiritual and physical ideals. WHen I work with clients, they are able to nurture satisfying relationships while upholding necessary boundaries, productive communication, and maintaining a sense of self with relationships.   Furthermore, my clients are able to identify and label emotions, allowing emotions to guide them rather than feeling like they are something they need to avoid.”
