Meet Monique Ford, a Child and Adolescent Therapist
Monique is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience working with at risk youth and families. She enjoys working with youth ages 11-18 to address anxiety, anger, trauma and challenges in their relationships at home, school or with peers. Monique provides safe space that allows her clients to grow and learn.
Her approach is client centered as she believe that it is important for clients to feel heard and understood. She use a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices and play therapy techniques to engage clients, help them understand their emotions, develop coping strategies and improve self-esteem. A therapy session with her may include game play, art, or story-based techniques. This allows clients to express their thoughts and feelings beyond using words.
She also work with parents and caregivers when needed to improve communication and consistency. This also helps with ensuring that tools learned in therapy are used in everyday life.

Get to know Monique!
I believe that modeling self-care is just as important as teaching it. Outside of the therapy room, I recharge by spending time with my family, exploring art museums, going to musicals and hunting for unique items at thrift stores. This helps keep me grounded so I can be fully present for the youth I work with.
Work with Monique!
