Learning goes beyond math, reading, and science.
Cosmos is a weekly homeschool enrichment program designed to help children build the life skills that aren’t always taught in traditional academics. Through hands-on activities, psychoeducation, games, discussions, and real-world experiences, students strengthen emotional intelligence, executive functioning, communication, confidence, and independence.
Every child is on their own journey.
Our small cohorts create a supportive environment where children can learn, grow, and connect with peers while earning non-core homeschool hours.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Cosmos therapy?
No. Cosmos is a psychoeducational homeschool enrichment program. While it is designed by mental health professionals and incorporates evidence-based concepts, it is not counseling or psychotherapy.
Is this a homeschool co-op?
Cosmos has the small-group, community feel of a homeschool co-op, but our focus is different. Instead of teaching academic subjects, we intentionally teach social-emotional learning, executive functioning, communication, and other life skills that support healthy development.
What ages can sign up?
We currently offer four age groups:
- Lower Elementary
- Upper Elementary
- Middle School
- High School
Students are grouped with peers in similar developmental stages.
How often does my child attend?
Students attend one two-hour session each week on the same day and time.
Is there homework?
No formal homework. Although, families receive conversation starters or optional activities to continue learning at home.
Do Caregivers stay during Cosmos?
No. Caregivers drop off and return at the end of the two-hour session.
Can my child join after the semester begins?
Depending on availability, yes. Since topics rotate, students can often join throughout the year.
Does Cosmos count toward homeschool hours?
Yes. Cosmos is designed to provide meaningful non-core educational instruction for homeschooling families.
Do you provide documentation for homeschool hours?
Yes. Families receive attendance documentation that can be used for homeschool records.
Is Cosmos only for homeschoolers?
While Cosmos was originally designed for homeschooling families, it’s also a great fit for children who participate in virtual or online learning and are looking for opportunities to build friendships, life skills, and confidence in a small-group setting.
Does my child need a diagnosis?
No. Children do not need a diagnosis to participate.
Can neurodivergent children participate?
Absolutely. We strive to create an inclusive, supportive environment where all children can learn and grow. At times, we may need to put 2 kids together vs 4-5, depending on the needs of the child.
Is Cosmos appropriate for children with anxiety?
Many anxious children benefit from predictable routines, small groups, and opportunities to build confidence. If you have questions about your child’s specific needs, we’d be happy to talk with you.
Is Cosmos a good fit for children with significant behavioral concerns?
It depends on the child’s needs. We’re happy to discuss whether Cosmos is the right fit or recommend other services if a different level of support would be more appropriate.
What should my child bring?
Just themselves, a positive attitude, and a willingness to participate. We’ll provide the materials needed for each week’s activities.
How do I reserve a spot?
Simply complete our interest form. We’ll contact you to answer questions, discuss placement, and help you enroll in the appropriate cohort.
Can friends enroll together?
Absolutely! Many families enroll friends together. Learning alongside a familiar face can help children feel more comfortable while still providing opportunities to build new friendships within the cohort.
Do you offer scholarships or sibling discounts?
Yes. We offer:
- 25% off for children who are currently placed in the custody of Children’s Division.
- 15% sibling discount for each additional child enrolled from the same family.
If you have questions about tuition or your family’s situation, we’re happy to help.
Can siblings be in the same cohort group?
We generally prefer not to. Whenever possible, siblings are placed in separate, age-appropriate cohorts. This gives each child the opportunity to:
- Build their own friendships.
- Develop confidence and independence.
- Participate without relying on a sibling.
- Practice social skills with a wider group of peers.
Of course, we’ll consider each family’s situation individually. If siblings are close in age or circumstances warrant it, we’re happy to discuss the best placement together.
