Our Pathways to Play program offers a variety of training both for beginning and well seasoned therapists.  Training is available for counseling students, school counselors, provisional therapists and licensed therapists. Training are provided online and in-person, depending on your needs. Registration is easy, all completed online.

Step By Step Counseling is Approved Provider (15-440)for the Association for Play Therapy, which allows learners to earn Play Therapy CE Hours towards their Registered Play Therapist credential, School Based Registered Play Therapist credential or renewal of either of those credentials.

“Are your CEs contact or non-contact hours?”
Association for play therapy  requires that those who are seeking the RPT credential to have 150 hours of instruction. They allow 50 hours to be non-contact hours.  100 must be contact or in person learning.
  • In person workshops – considered direct contact hours
  • Live webinars – considered direct contact hours 
  • Pre-recorded webinars – are considered non-contact distance learning. (APT allows up to 50 hours)
  • Online Courses –  are considered non-contact distance learning. (APT allows up to 50 hours)

 

“What type of courses or topics does APT require for the 150 hours of instruction”
Association for play therapy requires that those who are seeking the RPT credential to have 150 hours of instruction. It’s important, when choosing your play therapy They break it down into a few sections:
  • Play Therapy History – 4-5 hours
  • Play Therapy Theories – 40-50 hours
  • Play Therapy Techniques or Methods – 40-50 hours
  • Play Therapy Applications – 40-50 hours

Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • If Step By Step Counseling cancels a training, we will refund registration fee or participant can decide to use that as a credit to an upcoming training.
  • In Person Workshop cancellations received at least 7 days prior to scheduled training are refundable less a $35 administrative fee.
  • In Person Workshop cancellations received within 7 days prior to a scheduled training will not be refunded.
  • Missed training (no shows) will not be given a refund.
  • Must attend entire training, partial CE credit is not available.
